FAQ

General

What is CortexHub?

A governed AI platform. AI clients connect to one MCP URL, or a member uses their CortexHub Co-worker, and CortexHub enforces access rules, stores credentials, and audits every tool call. See What is CortexHub?.

Do I need the SDK to use Claude or Cursor?

No. Add https://mcp.cortexhub.ai/v1/mcp in your app and sign in with OAuth. See Get started.

Does CortexHub run the AI?

It depends on the path. External clients (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, your own runtime) run the AI on your side, and CortexHub governs the tool access. CortexHub also runs one hosted Co-worker per entitled member inside CortexHub Cloud, governed by the same policies and audit. In both cases your vendor model keys, if you bring your own, stay in CortexHub's secure store and are never exposed to the agent.

Security

What credentials does the MCP gateway accept?

Two: an OAuth bearer token from a programmatic Member Credential, or an organisation gateway key for backend automation that acts on behalf of your own end users. Raw vendor credentials are never sent to the gateway. See Choose your authentication model.

Where are vendor credentials stored?

In CortexHub's secure credential store, scoped to the member and toolkit. They are injected at the time a tool runs and never returned to the agent or chat.

Organization and access

Why can't I connect a toolkit?

Usually because an org admin has not enabled it for the organization or published it to your group. See Toolkits and connections.

What is an organization?

The organization is the single account, billing, and governance boundary. It holds members, groups, tool access, and your Co-workers. A user can own several independent organizations. See Organizations.

Developers

When should I use the Python SDK?

When your backend or agent runtime calls CortexHub programmatically. The SDK wraps either a programmatic Member Credential or an organisation gateway key. See MCP SDK.

Where is the OpenAPI reference?
